JIM: Well we originally even shared the Woolsey Street office with the Oakland-Berkeley CISPES (Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador). We rented the office together, 43 because we couldn't afford it alone. Eventually NIC became large enough that it needed all the office space. We even had a printshop going. Scott, the person who printed the... magazine also worked on printing leaflets for various progressive causes, but also produced the Bulletin and the magazine.
There were I believe two major coalitions working on Central America issues. One of the strains in that period and it's just unfortunate that the limited energy sometimes has to compete and we can't always find the best way to cooperate In that period where people were outraged at human rights violations in El Salvador and many people were questioning what was happening in Nicaragua, a lot of the energy did go much more towards El Salvador.
