As someone whose career had thrived on being able to look at myself each day with nothing but confidence and strength, this was a bit like upending a card table. So maybe it shouldn’t be so surprising that I’d never had a moment with any of them like the one I had from afar with some women who were young enough to be my daughters. My first thought as I finally walked away from the park that afternoon, notably with a distinct warmth emanating from my crotch like a tiny sun, was that of utter confusion.
