The course of study at the Boyal Military College extends through one year. At the end of the first term, the Cadet has to pass an examination in the work of the term, and failure at the examination involves the loss of a term. There is another examination at the end of the course, and those who pass a satisfactory examination become entitled to Commissions in the Army as Second Lieutenants, and may be gazettpd to regiments in the order in which they pass. lY. The payment to be made on behalf o...f a Cadet varies from £20 for the son of an officer who has died in the service, and whose family is left in pecuniary distress, to £125 for the son of a private gentleman.
