B. T. " in the Le Conte Collection, apparently differing from the original series only in the better defined elytral markings. I have seen many examples like this last taken by Mr. J. B. Wallis in Manitoba. (Miami, Le Pas, Piquitenay River and Mile 214 H. B. Ry. ) and others taken by Mr. Howard Notman at Cochrane in N. Ontario. C. Ovoideus Lee. Oval, about equally narrowed before and behind, uniformly rufotestaceous above, head infuscate with pale vertex spot, thorax with basal margin darker, e...lytra with the sutural edge blackish, body beneath black. Punctuation rather finer and less close than in the allied species, the series of coarser punctures on the elytra evident though not very conspicuous. Length 3. 5 mm. ; width 1. 8 to 1. 9 mm. The type locality is Eagle Harbor, Lake Superior. There are only two examples in the Le Conte Collection, both of which judging from the tarsi seem to be females. Le Conte in his description speaks of the male as being a little more shining than the female, but it may be that he 10 was in error in his supposed separation of the sexes.
