She could hear the passing cars on Thomas Street.
‘How do you feel, Shirley?’ asked Kerrie, who was sitting by the bed.

I just want to get back to Opal Lake.’ ‘Shirley, you know you have to be monitored. You can’t go home too early, especially to a place where there’s no medical backup. It would be dangerous.’ Shirley sighed. ‘I know. I just hate being out of my routine.
