The State of Missouri can have but one bank, and that bank will not fur- nish more than a given quantity of circulation, be the increase of population and trade what it may. It would have been quite as judicious in the framers of the constitution had they determined that but one railroad should ever exist in the state, and that that road should never have more than a cer- tain number ,of engines and cars.
