Pure religious truth is in perfect harmony with the reason and the science of the age, before whose light the superstitions and im- aginations which have come down from the past are dispelled. In the Bahai teaching all men are exhorted to investigate, each for himself, the realities of religion, accepting nothing through tradition or hearsay. Thus by a careful search for the reality under- 32 THE PEACE OF THE WORLD lying all religions, through the light of this present-day teaching, the fundamental one- ness of all religions will be understood.
