And, for the estabhshment of points which (I sup- pose) nobody will ever dream of controverting ; the points, namely, of God's Prescience and of God's moral retribution : he never once adduce...s those texts of the New Testament which treat of Predestination ; but he always refers, when he refers at all, to the case of prophecy as exemplified in the ancient Hebrew Scriptures*.
Negatively, therefore, Justin never asserts: that Gods prescience of the fitness of certain individuals is the moving CAUSE of their Election.
* I subjoin the six passages ; which, so far as I know, are the only passages wherein Justin speaks of God's Prescience as connected with God's Moral Retribution : in order that the reader may judge for himself.
