Digestion experiments by Dietrich and Grindley at the Illinois Experiment Station ^ showed that crackhngs were considerably more digestible than tankage. For hogs, good crackhngs should be at least as valuable as tankage. They are also very good for poultry. Raw bone meal, as the name implies, consists of ground bone. It is made from clean, sound bones from healthy animals. It is high in protein and very high in ash. It is used especially for hogs and poultry to furnish additional mineral matter to the ration.
