What reading level is The Print Collectors Handbook book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

Hamerton, in his ' Graphic Arts, ' tells us : ' For a long time before the modern revival of etching, it was treated with a degree of contempt which is hardly imaginable now. People could not be induced to look at etch- ings. ' Though there were signs of an awakening in England during the second and third decades of the nineteenth century, it is to France that one must turn for the first distinct rays of the new dawn that was to lead on to the bright noon of the etcher's art.
Among the pioneers
... of this revival were Ingres, Delacroix, Paul Huet, and Corot men who were striving to throw off the traditions of an older school, and were feeling their way to a freer atmosphere. Ingres appears to have etched but one plate, a portrait of Gabriel Cortois de Pressigny, Archbishop of Rennes, and French Ambassador at Rome ; and the skill with which he has handled the needle, notwithstanding a tendency towards the line manner of work, and the knowledge he possessed of the use of acid, make one regret that he did not devote his talent to etching during the half-century that he lived after making this interesting and most promising experiment, which Beraldi thinks Vandyck himself might not have disavowed.
