Yes, even Peter — the timorous Peter, who just now dared not even own his Master, but shrunk from the accusation of a servant-girl, now dares to face his murderers lifting their blood-stained hands to heaven, and appealing to the righteous God in vindication of their act. Yes, even he dares to face these men, and to say to them, " Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles, and wonders, and signs ; him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowl- edge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.
