In two days there was apparently a sufficient degree of inflam- mation excited, yid every reason to think that there would be a permanent cure ; but 1 was again doomed to disappointment. Dr. Bohring now advis- ed me to submit tcr the operation of excision, to which I would probably have consented, had I not about this time received a letted from a young snrgeon, who had just finished his studies at Edinburgh ; he urged me strongly to delay any further operation, relating the success which at- tended Prof.
