What reading level is The Rise of the Dutch Republic — volume 11: 1566, Part Ii book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

He knew himself the mark of incessant and calumnious misrepresentationboth at Brussels and Madrid. He had been doing his best, at a momentouscrisis, to serve the government without violating its engagements, but hedeclared himself to be neither theologian nor jurist, and incapable, while suspected and unassisted, of performing a task which the mostlearned doctors of the council would find impracticable. He wouldrather, he bitterly exclaimed, endure a siege in any fortress by theTurks, than be p...laced in such a position. He was doing all that he wascapable of doing, yet whatever he did was wrong. There was a greatdifference, he said, between being in a place and talking about it at adistance.
In the middle of October he was recalled by the Duchess, whose lettershad been uniformly so ambiguous that he confessed he was quite unable todivine their meaning. Before he left the city, he committed his mostunpardonable crime. Urged by the leaders of the reformed congregationsto permit their exercises in the Clothiers' Hall until their templesshould be finished, the Count accorded his consent provisionally, andsubject to revocation by the Regent, to whom the arrangement wasimmediately to be communicated.
