Yet even in this disconsolate condition, which hath continued now up- wards of 1700 years, the promises to the election of grace, the remnant of Israel, for their preservation in the midst of destruction, and their reconciliation and restoration in the latter days, remain fixed on the immoveable foundation of the divine mercy and truth* " For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee : though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scatterd thee, yet will I not MAKE A FULL END OF THEE.
