I was a curiosity since none of them had ever seen me before. I stood in my disguise, the wig hiding the truth of who I was. My scalp itched, a feeling that had once receded as my hair had grown out, but now, with my head freshly shaved and so tender, my fingernails yearned to scratch the top of my head.
