There were emplacements of mangonels, ballistas, fire-casters and flame-sluices. Gil noticed most of those were pivot-mounted, and could be brought to bear on the harbor if it came to that. The walls were of immense stone blocks, and he wasn’t surprised to learn that, like most of the more awesome constructions in the Crescent Lands, the Hub antedated the Great Blow.
