An Act to amend the Act 2 Victoria, chapter 3, for regulating the relative duties of Masters of Vessels employed in the Merchant Service of the Bahamas, and of Seamen so employed. (Assented to 29th January,... 1873.) I. The following rules shall be observed with respect to agreements entered into under the first section of the Act to which this Act is an amendment, that is to say : — 1st. Every such agreement shall be signed by each seaman in the presence of an officer of the Revenue Department at the port where the shipment may take place. 2nd. Such revenue officer shall cause the agreement to be read over, and explained to each seaman, or otherwise ascertain that each seaman understands the same before he signs it, and shall attest each signature.
