The Scandinavians (Norwegians, Swedes, Danes and Icelanders) of Wisconsin, are divided into na- tional groups. The Norwegians are strongest in Dane County, where there are probably not less than fourteen thousand who were either born in Norway or whose parents were. Other counties having large numbers, are Pierce, St. Croix, Eau Claire, Waushara, W^aupaca, Washburn, Winne- bago, Portage, Buffalo, Trempealeau, Barron, Door, Bayfield, Florence, Lincoln, Rock, Racine, Mil- waukee, Grant and Oneida.
