Why, if God had done according to our concep- tion of divine mercy the universe would have ceased to exist long ago. Do we not often wish that the very regulation which keeps our planet in its orbit be ruled out of order? The fact is that very often we fail to see mercy, and it shoots up in trees, in flowers, in lights, in joys.
