Superior lines of telegraph along the entire length of all the roads here projected, are held in view as collateral im- provements which it will be well to construct simultaneously with the roads themselves ; so that, in this way, correspond- ence may be greatly facilitated, business promoted, and the invincibly powerful and widespread family of American nationalities, occupying all the territory between the Arctic Regions and Cape Horn, and harmoniously allied with each other in the industrial development and enlightening march of peaceful and prosperpous and progressive civilization, may be respectively heard from, in accents of sisterly greet- ing and fraternal emulation, every morning at the breakfast- table.
