Can’t you see what’s happening?’ The guard pointed his rifle at Moses’s chest. ‘I’m warning you, chappy –’ ‘No, he doesn’t see.’ I interposed myself between Moses and the soldier; I was dismayed by Moses’s evident lack of control, regardless of his distress.
