"The only novelty contained in this publication is the reproduction in facsimile of a Cabinet circular respecting events said to have occurred at Nuremberg in 1828, probably to form the basis of future fables and suspicions. Several papers have already thrown doubts on its genuineness, and in fact a closer examination reveals unmistak- able signs of forgery: a seal where no seal is ever placed ; a superscription and address quite contrary to usage ; four lin...es in a different hand- writing from the rest ; single words either dis- placed, or with a blank space left around them ; a date fourteen years anterior to that of the water -mark of the paper, and so strangely written as to suggest its having been tampered with! A publication that, either wilfully or erroneously, makes use of methods such as these, cannot deserve any kind of notice. "- Badische Landeszeitung^ March 9, 1892.
