The quotation is from the Annual Report of the American and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society for 1850. It is proper to add, that in 1849 and 1850 there seems to have been a revival of anti-slavery sentiment, or at least of anti-slavery action^ in the Northern branch of this Church, ■ — judging by certain resolutions then adopted, which denounce slavery in severe terms, and conclude by affirming " that the glory of God and the good of mankind require the exclusion of slave-holders from the Christian Church." We next notice the declension of Christian sen- timent in the Presbyterian Church.
