The regi- ments were placed in the following order from the right: Twenty-fourth, Eleventh Maine, One Hundredth New York, and four companies of the Tenth Connecticut. Nearly all of the men were covered by rifle-pits. The enemy were watched as they threw up similar works not more than 200 yards dis- tant. At 6.30 p.m., the Sixth Connecticut relieved the *General Walker was captured by Company C of the Sixty-seventh Ohio Regiment, and there was an interesting sequel to the event in that,. on the ...24th day of the following September, General Wm. Lyon of Dayton, Ohio, a vet- eran of Company K, Twenty-fourth, met a General Walker who was staying at the same hotel with the Yankee.
