It is this : We in Britain feel that any peace made upon the present position of affairs would not be a real peace. It would be a mere truce. And, lastly, there is one more reason why peace cannot be made at this moment. It is not for ourselves merely that we are fighting : it is for great principles, to which we owe a duty.
