It would require an extended notice, too, to give any ade- quate account of the various University laboratories; but the general remark should be made that, owing to the great care exercised in the making of purchases and in the keeping up of repairs, there is a surprisingly low percentage of waste observ- able in them, and a correspondingly high degree of practical usefulness is secured.
