But she’d done nothing about her air of horrified disapproval.
I said, “Reach into my right-hand jacket pocket, please. Take out what you find there.”
She hesitated, and put her hand where I’d asked her to. She glanced at me sharply, startled, and drew out one of the silenced automatics.
