E. , the ratio k/ c H* at these two concentrations is sensibly a constant. With the 0. 15 M sucrose the proportionality here is not so good as in the former case. Palmaer, loc. Cit. , exam- ined this range of concentrations at very short intervals, and ob- tained good proportionality between the concentration of hydrogen ion, as calculated by conductivity ratios, and the velocity of inver- sion.
