... v/as a letter from Lord Massereene, an Ulster peer, complaining that he had received threatening notices. But Massereene was a persistent grumbler. He had voted for the Union, and not only had he been ignored in the distribution of honours and places, but he seems to have failed even to obtain compensation for the loss of a pocket borough.
He writes to Hardwicke : " Antrim Castle, " November 11, 1802.
