" AND THE VCNh'UABLE BEDE. Li'J to combine the lal)oui*s of a Christian ministrr with those of a civil governor. His life may therefore be regarded as no especial mountain- top of peculiar sanctity, but as a healthy specimen of the Christian life of his times, and, in connexion with brief sketches of the lives of the Venerable Bede, and Fortunatus, Bishop of Poictier.
