Trifolium lupinaster L. may be termed the dominant representative of the clover genus in Siberia. It is very widely distributed, practi- cally throughout the length and breadth of Siberia, extending farther north than any other type of the Trifoliums, and into Mongolia and Turkestan. Its northern range is in the vicinity of the Arctic Circle across Siberia. Specimens have been collected in the Province of Archangel, near the Arctic Circle in European Russia. It is an extremely abundant plant on the open steppes and is found along with the three species of Siberian alfalfa already mentioned.
