What reading level is The Yelta And Paramatta Mines book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:
This apparent belt of the rock extends from a point six chains west of the railway line for a distance of 14 chains to the west-south-west. Such sedi- mentary rocks are of peculiar interest from a geological point of view, in that they are likely to afford the clue to the structure of the district. The information available with regard to this particular occurrence is, unfortun- ately, inconclusive. The superficial covering, which completely masks the rocks throughout the area, is of variable t...hickness and composition. In some places the basal rock is found decomposed, in situ, at a depth of only a few inches. In other places the prospecting pits show the presence of several feet of sand, traver- tine, and clay. The travertine consists for the most part of calcium carbonate, with which are mingled clay, sand, and fragments of the decayed felspathic porphyry. The structure is in almost all cases concretionary. This deposit is formed by the evaporation of the water which circulates through the shallow belt of disintegrated rock lying immediately below the surface.
