The iirst is of some interest in connexion with the p.(.rp-f\]iara h 6r}(ravp6v{pp. 139-46), as showing the relations of the landholders and the yfcopyoi. In t...his case it would appear that the yeapyos is not a tenant, but a person in the position of a bailiff; and the numerous instances of /ifTprj/iara made Sia yecopyov which occur, on ostraca probably relate to similar transactions, where the corn was not delivered by the land- holder in person, but by deputy through one of his servants.
