The Heritage Commission supports the Historic Barn Tax Incentive Program whereby owners of barns over 75 years old can get a Preservation Easement to help preserve old farm buildings and keep them in agriculture. So far in Shelburne, the Whitney Farm has been granted this easement. The Heritage Commission has also been involved in efforts to preserve the Old Meadows Bridge.
