i • THE Refpe£tive Pleas and Arguments OF THE MOTHER COUNTRY, AND OF THE COLONIES DISTINCTLY SET FORTH, &c.
iVERY Event fince the Publica...tion of my Scheme for a total Separation from the Northern Colonies, has ferved to prove, that fuch a Meafure is the only eligible one for the Mother Country to purfue. Confequently, however Harried Peo- ple were at firft at the Novelty and Boldneis of the Propofition, yet, upon fecond Thoughts B and io PLEAS AND ARGUMENTS, and maturer Reflection, they feem now to be generally convinced, that it will be abfurd to think of terminating the Difpute in any other Way. Hence therefore, the fooner fuch a Scheme is adopted, fo much the better ; inaf- much as fewer Mifchiefs will enfue, the fmaller will be the Expence of maintaining Fleets and Armies to no Purpofe, the lefs Blood will be fpilt :— And I add likewife, as no unworthy Confideration, the lefs ill Blood will be occa- fioned.
