Any gland, when irritated or stimulated, secrets more abundantly and if the stimulus is kept up, the structure of the gland becomes hypertrophied and its secretion becomes abnormal. Although the mucous membrane of the genital tracts is so closely con- nected and so neany alike throughout, the discharge which comes from it differs as it comes from its several parts, hence leucorrhoea is divided into different forms. Vulvar, vaginal^ cervical, uterine and tubal.
Vulvar. — Leucorrhoea of the vulvar is a viscid secretion, collects on the labia and often sticks them together. It is composed of epithelial cells, pus corpuscles and mucus.
