" Here is a police case reported with the same somewhat grim humour :— TRAVELS IN POUTUGAL. 197 " An individual, calling himself Jeremy da Silva, twenty-fi^^e years of age, was charged with purchas- ing a water-melon without manifesting any disposi- tion to pay for the same.
