Anne, &c. ; ditto by Giulio Romano, of the Madonna, our Saviour, and S. Jo...hn I and two paintings by Cavallucci ! Another apart- ment contains pictures of the ancient Florentine school, two paintings, by Ghezzi, a dead Christ, attributed to Buo- naroti, a picture, by Muziani, and two paintings by Cava^ Ittcci* Vaticano. Some writers suppose this Palace to have been erected by Nero, and afterward bestowed, by Con- stantine, upon the Roman Fontiffi: while others are of opinion that it was built by Constantine on the site of the Oardens of Nero: it seems to have recdved augmentations 816 TRAVELS ON THE CONTINENT.
