Another Difadvantage to an Author arifes from the Want of a learned Acquaintance, upon whofe Friendfliip he might rely j by whom his Works might be corrected, re- vifed, and placed out of the Power of the envious, malicious, or ill-natured Critick. They would ftrike'out many Inaccuracies, &c. Which an Author, partial to himfelf and fond of his own Compofitions, is apt to pafs over. It is bed to fee with other Mens Eyes, for we are all inclined to be blind to our own Defects.
